Wrightsville Beach Nightlife

You may be visiting Wrightsville beach or maybe you are a college student in Wilmington NC but either way, you should be sure to check out the Wrightsville beach nightlife. I feel like the Wrightsville beach nightlife has a more laid back party scene than maybe the city life but that is something that I prefer. Though Wrightsville beach may seem laid back, these locals still know how to party and have a good time. Here are my favorite bars that I like to visit if I am going out on the beach town.

Jerry Allens: Jerry Allens is a great place to go where a sports bar meets the beach. With outdoor and indoor TVs, Jerry’s is a great place to watch the game, and also offers great drink and food specials each day of the week, including a great half-off menu multiple days of the week. Jerry Allen’s also has skeeball and other games to keep you occupied. It is definitely the type of environment you can enjoy on weekdays as well as weekends.

Lager Heads: Lager Heads is a smaller bar with a very relaxed vibe. There is often great live music depending on the day. One of the most simple and great things about Logger Heads is the outdoor ledge seating. It is a great way to start or end the night at the bars.

Jimmy’s and Red Dogs: Jimmy’s is the place to go to see live music in Wrightsville Beach. With two makeshift stages, the music ranges from a single acoustic instrumentalist to a full-blown band. Jimmy’s is not only dog-friendly, but you are unlikely to go there without seeing a dog, often times right on top of the bar. Red Dogs, right above Jimmy’s is a pretty different vibe. This is by far the most crowded bar, and it is mostly a dance floor with fish bowls to drink and foam coming from the ceiling. This is definitely more of a party scene, and it is also one of the few that charges a cover and will always have a line on Fridays and Saturdays.

22 North: 22 North is probably one of the largest, if not the largest Wrightsville Beach bar with two bars within the entire place. Half of 22 North is a dance floor with a DJ, and the other half is pool tables and a large bar and standing area. 22 is a great place to go to experience both atmospheres.

Neptunes: Neptunes is similar to 22 North in that both are restaurants during the day and completely different places at night. It has two sides as well, with two bars, one being next to a large dance floor. Neptunes is probably the best bar to go to if you like to dance. During the week, Neptunes has great specials including dollar tacos on Tuesdays and half-priced hibachi bowls on Thursdays.
