Best shopping centers in Wilmington NC

Independence Mall- 3500 oleander DR

This is probably my favorite shopping center of everything in Wilmington because it is an enclosed mall that you can walk around when the weather is not good. Independence Mall is located near the midtown area of Wilmington and has lots of other stores beside of it than just the mall itself. Independence mall has big department stores such as Belk, Dillard’s, JCPenny and Sears. The mall offers other little stores such as American eagle, Bath and body works, Gamestop, Lids, Pacsun, spencers and much more. The mall also has a food court that offers Chik-fil-a, Ming Tree, Charley’s grilled subs, Nikki’s fresh gourmet & sushi, and Sarku Japan. Independence mall also has other miscellaneous things such as a putt-putt course and a college.

Mayfaire -6835 conservation way

Mayfaire is located more towards Wrightsville beach and is known to be a much nicer area than the other malls. Mayfair is not an enclosed mall, which means that you will have to walk outside to get to the other shops which can be bad on a rainy day. Mayfair has shops such as Marshalls, pottery barn, buckle, William Sonoma, Ann Taylor, Petsmart and other stores. Their food choices also consist of a Panera bread, chipotle, Roko, Zoes kitchen, Ruby Tuesday, melting pot, and a Starbucks. Mayfair also has a movie theater that is inside the shopping center.

University Commons and Centre- 341 south college road

This is a great shopping center because of its location and how much it has to offer. This shopping center is located near campus so it is great for if you are a student. This is not an enclosed shopping mall so it might not be great just to walk around. This shopping center offers stores such as hair clips, TJ Max, best buy, Lowes foods, Lowes home improvement, Sams club old navy, ATT&T, staples. Petsmart. This center offers food such as a Smoothie King, Hibachi Bistro, Blue Asia, Munchies, and much more. I like this shopping center so much because I was able to just walk there while I was a student at UNCW.
