Whether you live in Wilmington, NC or you are just visiting, Carolina beach is always a fun place to go if you are looking for a fun beach day. Carolina beach has miles of beach that you can play on or if you do not like the water then Carolina beach has numerous activities for you to enjoy like the boardwalk or the aquarium. Carolina beach also neighbors Kure Beach and Fort Fisher, which are also fun to go to. If you are down here for the day then you may have to worry about where to park and parking down here during peak vacation season may get complicated. You are in luck though because I have made this guide to make parking for you as easy as possible so you can remain relaxed while you are trying to have fun.
Let’s go over the basics of parking here first:
-Parking is enforced from April 1st to October 31st
-During this time, parking is in effect from 8 am to 7 pm
-Parking cost 1.50$ per hour or 8$ for the day
-Dogs are allowed on the beach from October 1st to March 31st
Most of all of Carolina beaches parking is located on Carolina Beach Ave North and south. There is parking along the road, which offers metered parking. There are also multiple beach accesses along this road, which offer off street parking. If you park in Carolina beach then you will be closer to all the action like the boardwalk which offers shops and a carnival for you to enjoy.
Here is a map of the public beach accesses that Carolina beach has to offer. For more info on parking then visit their site here.
If you want free parking and do not care about being close to the boardwalk then you can go to Kure Beach and Fort Fisher. You have to keep heading south from Carolina beach and you will eventually reach Kure beach. Here, parking is free all year round. When you first get there, Kure beach offers the town hall which has the pier and the shops that you can go too.
If you keep going south then you will get to Fort Fisher which offers an Air Force recreation area, a civil war museum, and the NC aquarium. Fort Fisher does not offer much action but the aquarium is really fun to go to and the beach area is really nice. Fort Fisher offers trails to walk on and public grills that you can use. The best part is that the parking is all free. If you want to drive on the beach and park as close as you can then you are able to pay for a permit to drive up and down Fort Fisher.
